| Ultrasound is being used for the evaluation
of masses in the pelvis. But the ultrasound image of endometriosis is also lacking
specific signs. Even though it is not suitable for establishing the diagnosis
endometriosis, it might be used for the monitoring of patients with the disease. Ultrasound might also be used to facilitate the punction of endometriotic cysts in order to aspirate fluid for cytologic diagnosis. |
