Born 28 January 1952 in Aalborg, Denmark. Graduated in medicine 1978, dr. med sci. 1984 (University of Aarhus, Denmark). Specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1990. Consultant and Associate Professor, department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Aarhus University Hospital 1994. Special interest in endometriosis since 1995. since 1998, head of the Endometriosis Clinic, which was approved by the Danish National Board of Health as a tertiary referral centre for endometriosis for Western Denmark in 2002. 

Board member of the Danish Endometriosis Society (patient support organisation). 

Areas of scientific interest include: endometriosis, endoscopic surgery and clinical pharmacology of urogenital smooth muscle. 

Teaching activities include theoretical and practical postgraduate courses in endoscopic surgery at basic and advanced levels.
