Kristy Sokoski

For more information about how to ask your questions, please read the guidelines for posting to the Endometriosis forum.

"I was diagnosed with endometriosis in August 1997 and have had 4 laparoscopies: one for diagnoses in August 1997 and three more after that to check the status of my endometriosis: June1999, February 2003, and June 2006.

Throughout the nearly 12 years that I have been dealing with this disease, I have used other treatments in addition to surgery to try and help keep my endometriosis under control.

I want other women to know that I am very passionate about being involved with the awareness of endometriosis through OBGYN.net's Endometriosis Forum.  This is a disease that not a lot of people understand.  The more we understand about this disease and the options available, and the more awareness we can put out there, the better it will be for all of us. By having more awareness and understanding of this disease my hope is that one day young girls of today will be able to get a diagnosis of endometriosis much sooner when they start to show symptoms.

I have moderated and owned several groups that relate to other kinds of health problems for more than 5 years.

My interests outside of endometriosis are: OB/GYN in general, Medicine in general, reading, and writing (when I have the time) just to name a few."
