Press Release
The Women's Health forum has always been very near and dear to my heart. When I
was diagnosed with endometriosis 14 years ago it was very hard. No one had heard
of this illness, and none of my friends had it. I felt very alone, in pain, and
had a fear of what the future may hold for me, and my ability to have children
when I became ready. Since finding the Women's Health forums it has helped me
tremendously. I found that for once I was no longer suffering alone, that there
were other women just like me. Since then I made it a goal to make sure that
women and young girls would no longer suffer in silence that they could find
support and others just like them. I have always felt a calling to help others,
and in doing so we can learn and support each other on our journey called endo.
I am volunteering my time to help other women on this long winding road with
many bumps, and curves as we travel the treatment road. I hope to be able to
offer comfort, support, and advice to those who may have just been diagnosed or
a veteran of the journey. By volunteering to be a moderator I hope to make the
obgyn forum a safe haven to those who are new to the world of endo as well as to
help those who are not so new. By working together with the other moderators I
hope to make the forum a safe, fun, educational, and supportive experience for
all that come to the group.

Bio
Niki French, 30 years old, Alabama. I was diagnosed with stage iv
endometriosis August 16, 1996. After several years of suffering I finally found
a doctor who put a name to my pain. I have been dealing with endo for the past
15 years. I have underwent 7 laparoscopic surgeries, the last was excision with
a supracervical hysterectomy and LUNA procedure. I was told I would never
conceive a child without medical interventions, that if we wanted children to
consider getting pregnant while I was young. Hearing those words haunted me over
the next few years. I married my high school sweetheart July 18, 1998, and after
2 years of trying we conceived our daughter Briana, who is now 9 years old,
naturally. We again 2 years later conceived our son Dylan who is almost 7. We
tried to conceive a third child for almost 4 years with no success. I have tried
numerous treatments for endometriosis; continuous birth control pills, depo
provera, mirena iud, progesterone daily, lupron depot, numerous fertility tests
and treatments. We currently reside in Southern Alabama with our two children
and our dog Mobley.
